Heartbreak on Seminary Street: 19-Year-Old Killed, Six Others Injured in LaGrange Mass Shooting
LAGRANGE, GA — A devastating act of violence has left the city of LaGrange reeling after a mass shooting early Sunday morning claimed the life of a 19-year-old and injured six others. The incident unfolded just before 1:00 a.m. on June 8, 2025, at a residence along Seminary Street, turning a neighborhood gathering into a scene of unimaginable tragedy.
According to the LaGrange Police Department, officers were called to the 100 block of Seminary Street following reports of multiple gunshots. When they arrived, they discovered seven individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, a 19-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other six were rushed to local hospitals, where their conditions range from serious to stable.
A Night Shattered by Gunfire
Investigators believe the shooting took place during a social event at the residence, which drew a number of young people. Witnesses reported hearing more than a dozen gunshots in rapid succession, with chaos and panic quickly spreading throughout the neighborhood. Several neighboring homes were also struck by stray bullets, although no additional injuries were reported outside the initial victims.
“This was a senseless and tragic act,” said LaGrange Police Chief Garrett Fiveash during a Sunday morning press conference. “We are putting every available resource into solving this case. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and our entire community.”
As of Sunday evening, no arrests had been made. Police are working to identify potential suspects and motives. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage and conducting interviews with those present at the scene. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of more than one shooter.
